Yoga Class | October 8th

Join me for a 30-minute floor-based, Somatics-inspired yoga practice where we’ll explore fluid, mindful movements designed to melt away stress and deepen your connection with the earth beneath you — and with your own body. Through gentle sequences that release tension from the chest, shoulders, legs, and hips, you’ll cultivate ease, softness, and freedom of movement throughout your whole body.

This soothing session is suitable for all levels and invites curiosity, exploration, and self-expression. Please wear warm, comfortable layers, as the practice is primarily floor-based and closes with gentle bridge poses to prepare the body for Shoulder Stand — a posture known to calm the nervous system, improve circulation, and support thyroid balance, while offering a quiet sense of clarity and renewal.

✨ This morning’s online yoga was a little different — more of a therapeutic session than my usual flow. We focused on the psoas, that deep core muscle connecting the upper and lower body. Often tight, overworked, and weakened, it plays a key role in posture, stability, and overall ease of movement. Today was all about gentle stretching, releasing tension, and strengthening this vital muscle. You need a block and socks for this seesion.

This morning’s yoga practice was a gentle exploration of our own bodies—tuning into areas where we may be holding tension or tightness, often without even realising it. We moved slowly and intuitively, edging into each stretch with curiosity rather than force. By listening closely to the subtle cues from our bodies, we allowed space for awareness and release, cultivating a deeper connection to how we feel from the inside out.

This morning’s online yoga class was all about playfulness and curiosity—an open invitation to explore what your body can do today. We delved into strength poses, not with a sense of pressure, but with a light-hearted approach: try it out, see how it feels, and let go of any frustration if something wasn’t quite available. It was a gentle reminder that yoga isn’t about nailing the pose, but about enjoying the process.

Conscious Non-Resistance

This slow flow class will invite you to consistently scan your body during gentle movements and stillness to discover messages it has for you. Rather than resisting, the invitation is to let go, surrender and let life flow through you as you flow through life. This practice is mainly floor based using body shapes and body weight to discover tension and mindfully ask it to release. A block may be handy for this practice and a cushion for support or more comfort.

🧘‍♀️ Slow Start – Deep Stretch & Awareness

To ease us into the new term, this morning’s class was intentionally slow and grounding. We focused on long-held, deep stretches to help us tune into our bodies and notice where we might be holding tension or in need of a little extra care. No props were needed, but a belt or scarf could come in handy for added support in a few poses.
