I cordially invite you to join me at 8 pm on Wednesday, March 20th, for a special online event celebrating the Spring Equinox: 108 Sun Salutations Yoga Practice.

During the Spring Equinox, the sun shines directly on the equator, granting equal rays to both the northern and southern hemispheres.

The practice of 108 Sun Salutations holds profound significance. As our bodies warm up, we delve deeply into our breath, turning our awareness inward.

Through the flow of movements:

✅️ Our minds quieten
✅️ Heat builds
✅️ Prana activates
✅️ We cleanse and detoxify
✅️ We release anything no longer serving us (such as stuck emotions)
✅️ We welcome change

108 Sun Salutations is a moving meditation, each movement synchronized with the breath. The number 108 holds sacred meaning across various disciplines: there are 108 pressure points and energy lines in the body; the Earth-Sun distance is 108 times the diameter of the sun, and India is believed to have 108 sacred sites.

We'll practice Surya Namaskar A, consisting of 12 moves with 12 breaths, repeated 108 times:

☯️ INHALE: Circle arms to sky for High Mountain.

☯️ EXHALE: Forward Fold, Swan Dive.
☯️ INHALE: Flat Back
☯️ EXHALE: Step or Jump back, lower down.
☯️ INHALE: Cobra or Up Dog.
☯️ EXHALE: Downward Facing Dog.
☯️ INHALE: Press hips back.
☯️ EXHALE: Walk or Jump to top of mat.
☯️ INHALE: Flat Back.
☯️ EXHALE: Forward Fold.
☯️ INHALE: Rise & sweep arms up.
☯️ EXHALE: Arms to Prayer.

Please have a yoga mat, water, small towel and a blanket for the closing relaxation. You may need a change of top for after the Salutations as it gets sweaty. :-)

Let's welcome the new season together with positivity, rejuvenation, and gratitude. Mark your calendars and join me. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with our bodies, minds, and spirits, embracing the energy of renewal and growth.

Whether you're a seasoned yogi or new to the practice, all are welcome to participate. Let's embrace the changing seasons with open hearts and open minds.
